Athletes are often divided by skill-level during practices to help coaches focus on individual athelete's growth.
We understand that practices are a comittment to families and athletes due to travel time and frequency. We appreciate families commitments to this program.
Our races are managed by Oregon Interscholastic Cycling League as apart of the greater NICA organization. Races vary from year to year, but typically run every other weekend starting around Labor Day. There are 4 races, plus a state championship race.
Races are a recommended two-day commitment. They are located throughout the state of Oregon. Common locations include Central Oregon, Coast, and Southeastern Oregon. Races offer free camping, often including tent camping.
Races alternate schedules with the South and North Conference, between Saturday and Sunday.
Day 1: Arrive in afternoon for pre-ride, race team orientation, pit zone and camp setup.
Day 2: Your athlete will race once during the day, but cheer on their teammates throughout the remainder of the day. Lunch and snacks are served in the Pit Zone. Pit Zone tear down between races & podium. Podium Awards are typically presented around 2pm.
Each season, we typically offer one or more adventure rides on weekends. These rides offer an opportunity for athletes go on longer adventure based trails (rather than skill or speed). It's a great social opportunity to participate in the youth mountain biking community. These tend to be explore different trails than a typical practice with longer routes, pushing riders through adventures.
