Eugene Composite Merchandise Now Available!
Eugene Composite proudly supports GRiT: Girls Riding Together through the Oregon Interscholastic Cycling League and NICA. Our goal is to ensure all girls have a welcoming, empowering space to belong in a co‑ed sport where representation is still growing.
We have two women head coaches, supported by numerous female coaches and volunteers, who help shape team‑level programming and community. Throughout the season, we host and participate in GRiT events designed to build confidence, connection, and belonging—whether that’s group rides, meetups, skills sessions, or creative off‑the‑bike gatherings.
During race weekends, we encourage all eligible athletes to join GRiT pre-rides, offering a supportive environment to preview the course and ride with peers.
Our commitment is simple: to build a stronger community on wheels and help more girls experience the joy of riding together.

Mountain biking has historically had low female representation — globally, only about 25% of adult riders are women. The Oregon League is working to change that, with a goal of 30% girls’ participation across the state. That number represents real progress in a sport that has long skewed male, and it reflects a growing movement to make cycling more welcoming, visible, and accessible for all girls.
Eugene Composite is proud to be part of that work. Today, about 20% of our athletes are girls, and we are committed to growing that number every season through intentional programming, mentorship, and community‑building.
Representation isn’t just about athletes — it’s about leadership, too.
55% of our nonprofit board members are women, shaping the direction of our organization at the highest level.
We have two women head coaches, and
Seven additional female coaches, giving us nine women coaches— that's 30%!
This matters. When athletes see women leading rides, coaching skills, and showing up in every part of the program, it sends a powerful message: you belong here, and there is space for you to lead.
Our GRiT program, continues expanding that space — to build a team culture where all girls feel seen, supported, and excited to ride.
