Take every opportunity to help your child learn their own bike maintenance.
Most practices and races are quite a drive from town. Plan to stay during practices. Bring plenty of snacks, water, and a good book, or bring your own bike for your own ride.
We know it's a lot of shuttling to and from practices, gear, and money. Know that we appreciate every athlete and parent who supports them. As a team, we are right there with you— but watching your child's passion grow, makes it all worth it.
Help make sure your athlete is prepared for each practice and on time. Make sure they have all the proper equipment ready and in working order.
Ask questions. Ask them of coaches, ask them of other parents. Everyone is friendly and happy to help navigate this new space.
Trust the coaches. We have amazing coaches, who support kids of all types. Trust them to support yours as well.
Help your child learn proper nutrition for both pre- and post-ride.
Step back and watch them grow.

Read the Oregon League handbook to understand the rules and expectations of races and NICA events.
If you stay in a hotel during race weekends, make sure to ask for a bottom floor room. For safety, don't leave your bikes on the racks. A bottom floor room makes it easier to bring your bikes inside.
While the team often has bells to ring during race days, bring your favorite noise maker to show your support.
Bring the team spirit to races. Wear team colors, silly clothes, or your own personal style. It boosts the athletes more than you know, plus, it helps your own rider spot you in the crowd to boost their morale.
